Now in its 245th year, the Summer Exhibition remains a much anticipated highlight of the arts calendar, serving as a unique window on to all areas of the contemporary art world. It is the worldís largest open-submission exhibition, displaying more than 1,000 works in all styles and media, including painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, architectural models and film.
This year Quentin Blake has submitted three lithographs from among work he produced for the Marlborough Gallery, London, where he had an exhibition of new work in December 2012. The image shown is 'Girl and Dogs 3' which was selected as the RA Summer Exhibition 'Image of the Day' on 20 June.
