The team at independent Italian design studio Arteprima hope to bring Quentin Blake's much-loved story 'Clown' to the screen as an animated short film, launching a crowd-funding appeal on Kickstarter from 2 March - 1 May 2017.

They plan to bring to life the story of the irrepressible little Clown, who has been thrown unceremoniously into a bin with other unwanted old toys, before he takes charge of his own future to rescue all of them.  Bravely and with irrepressible optimism he goes off in search of help. And a new home.

The film, like the original book, will be told without words but with the help of an original soundtrack.  The animation team will remain true to Quentin's ink-and-watercolour drawings to create a faithful animated representation of Quentin's original vision.
