Quentin's Dream joins a host of giant jars across London and the UK

Monday 11th July 2016

This summer, the streets of London are transformed with magical giant Dream Jars to celebrate Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday and The BFG movie release.

These giant-size (3ft) Dream Jars can only belong to The BFG (Big Friendly Giant).  The BFG Dream Jar Trail brings to life the long-held dreams of celebrities and artists with Dream Jars across London and beyond. Each jar contains “splendiferous” sculptures or art based on dream stories from the likes of Steven Spielberg, Stephen Hawking, the Delevingne sisters and many more. Learn more about each jar and the dreams that inspired the celebrity “dreamers”.
Quentin Blake's jar contains three drawings that capture the euphoria of batting his wings and soaring amongst characters from Roald Dahl's books.  Find it in Granary Square, Kings Cross, just outside the House of Illustration - where Quentin's exhibition of drawings of 'The BFG in Pictures' is now on show.

Discover The BFG Dream Jars in iconic spots in London such as Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace - see 32 Dream Jars from 9 July and a further 18 Dream Jars by 22 July, in time for the release of The BFG in UK cinemas.  There are also dream jars in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and Cardiff.  See ful maps and download trails from the BFG Dream Jar website.

Quentin’s jar is one of four being sold to raise money for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, with the other jars on the trail benefitting Save the Children.  Place your bids at https://paddle8.com/ from 17 July - 31 August.
