New 'QB Papers' titles published

Friday 8th November 2019

The next five titles in Quentin's exciting self-publishing venture 'The QB Papers' were published on 7 November.  Distributed by Thames & Hudson, and available from Quentin's own online shop, they provide another unique insight into his recent artistic output.
Riders by Night is a series of pen & ink drawings with watercolour wash, depicting imaginary creatures and their passengers making their way through darkened landscapes;
A Comfortable Fit is the companion volume to 'The New Dress' (published in August 2019) with the female models in this case snuggling into a variety of loose, comfortable clothing, drawn in chinagraph pencil;
Scenes at Twilight is a collection of atmospheric drawings in ink and watercolour of people and animals at dusk.  The original drawings (exhibited at (the now) Hastings Contemporary in late 2018) were in a variety of single colours, but are printed here in greyscale;
Constant Readers captures a range of readers in a variety of attitudes, in pen & ink with watercolour halftone;
The Ar of Conversation, a set of pen & ink line drawings, discovers the many different ways in which people talk to each other.
In describing 'The QB Papers' as a whole, Quentin writes: 'In recent years I have found myself working increasingly in sequences of drawings which explore subjects and techniques which interest me.  These scenarios are the origins of  'The QB Papers'; they vary in approach and tone, and between reality and fantasy.  But I hope that each in its own way will appeal to anyone who likes looking at drawings.'
The next five titles in the series are due for publication in February 2020, with the final five titles publishing in May.
