at Compton Verney, Warwickshire, UK

Saturday, October 21, 2017 to Sunday, December 17, 2017

Enjoy the wonderful creations of one of the world’s most important and best loved illustrators. Quentin Blake: Inside Stories offers a unique insight into some of Quentin Blake’s best known and popular creations.

Quentin himself introduces illustrations for his own books and collaborations with other writers - including John Yeoman, Michael Rosen, David Walliams and Roald Dahl - bringing together rough drawings and finished artwork to demonstrate how his ideas evolved.  The exhibition features  over 140 original works, many unpublished and from his archive, as well as some of his tools and materials.

Quentin’s candid personal commentary and extensive selection of works make this his most intimate and revealing exhibition to date.  The exhibition is on tour from London's House of Illustration, where the show appeared as its inaugural exhibiton when the venue opened in July 2014.  Compton Verney is the final stop on a UK tour which has lasted for three years, and offers the final chance to see this landmark retrospective.
