Museum Meermanno / Museum of the Book, The Netherlands

Saturday, October 6, 2018 to Sunday, March 3, 2019

A major exhibtion of Quentin Blake's illustration work, curated by the House of Illustration for Museum Meermanno in The Hague, 'The Freinds of Quentin Blake' covers the artist's entire career: showing early work for magazines and book covers in the 1950s and 1960s, through his own picture books of the 1970s to his world-famous collaboration with author Roald Dahl in the 1980s and beyond.  Visitors can also get a taste of some of Quentin's drawings for classics published by The Folio Society, as well as his excursions into fine art with the large-scale 'Woman with a Book' collection of watercolours.

Special vinyl displays have been created to enhance the exhibits, which complement beautifully the historic house where Museum Meermanno is based; and visitors are encouraged to learn about Quentin's working practice with a display of materials from his studio in London.
