100 Figures: The Unseen Art of Quentin Blake / The Model as Artist
At: House of Illustration, King's Cross, London
5 October 2018 - 27 January 2019
Two complementary exhibitions of previously unseen work by Quentin Blake, '100 Figures' and 'The Model as Artist' highlight Quentin's prolific but unknown work as a figurative artist. Created over fifty years from the 1950s to 2000, the large oil paintings, monotype prints and drawings give a unique insight into his creative practice away from illustration.
The exhibition is accompanied by a 128-page hardback catalogue produced by Tate Publishing, selected and introduced by House of Illustration Curator, Olivia Ahmad.
